Florida Panthers' painted panther sculptures raised $700K for cancer research, inspired by Chicago’s Cows on Parade.
The Florida Panthers launched a cancer fundraiser featuring artistically painted panther sculptures created by sports and entertainment figures like Wayne Gretzky, Martina Navratilova, and Michael Bublé.
Inspired by Chicago’s “Cows on Parade,” the sculptures were displayed at LoanDepot Park ahead of the Winter Classic, drawing about 35,000 fans.
Co-chaired by Panthers GM Bill Zito and his wife Julie, a breast cancer survivor, the initiative has raised approximately $700,000 toward a $1 million goal, with proceeds supporting cancer research.
