Congress MP Adoor Prakash said he accompanied Unnikrishnan Potti, a man from his constituency linked to the Sabarimala gold theft case, to meet Sonia Gandhi in Delhi, stating the visit was procedural and not improper.
He clarified he had previously attended an Annadanam event Potti organized and joined the meeting at Potti’s request while in Delhi.
The statement follows criticism from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who claimed Prakash brought Potti to Gandhi’s residence.
The Sabarimala case involves allegations of irregularities in a 1998 gold and copper donation by Vijay Mallya, with the SIT recently arresting a former Devaswom Board member.
