Andy Kotelnicki is returning to the University of Kansas as associate head coach, rejoining head coach Lance Leipold’s staff after two seasons at Penn State, where he served as offensive coordinator.
Kotelnicki previously led Kansas’ high-powered offenses from 2020 to 2023, helping the Jayhawks achieve a 9-4 record in 2023 and setting school records in yards per play and scoring.
He helped Penn State reach the College Football Playoff semifinals in 2024 before being let go following the team’s season-ending struggles and coaching changes.
Leipold cited Kotelnicki’s experience, familiarity with the program, and track record in offensive success as key reasons for the hire.
While Jim Zebrowski remains offensive coordinator, Kotelnicki’s return is expected to strengthen the Jayhawks’ coaching staff and offensive performance.
