A 21-year-old IIT Hyderabad student landed a ₹2.5 crore annual job offer from Optiver, the highest in the institute’s history.

Edward Nathan Varghese, a 21-year-old final-year computer science student at IIT Hyderabad, has secured a record ₹2.5 crore annual job offer from Optiver, a Netherlands-based trading firm. This is the institute's highest placement package in history. The offer came after a successful two-month internship in which he impressed recruiters and received the only pre-placement offer out of two interns. Varghese, who interviewed only with Optiver, attributed his success to consistent competitive programming, a flexible academic curriculum, and campus leadership positions. IIT Hyderabad has experienced a successful placement season, with average salaries increasing by 75% to ₹36.2 lakh and 24 international offers made.
