The Royal Mint has released its 2026 commemorative coin collection honoring the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth, the 200th anniversaries of the Zoological Society of London and HMS Beagle, the 100th year of the British Grand Prix, and the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust. The set includes a £5 coin with 100 beads symbolizing the centenary, two £2 coins, two 50p coins, and a limited edition of 52 gold coins made from recycled gold sourced from old jewelry and electronics. All coins feature King Charles III’s portrait and are not for general circulation. Available starting January 2, prices begin at £39.50, with a premium gold set priced at £14,500. The Royal Mint Experience in Wales will also offer visitors the chance to strike their own 2026-dated £1 coin.
