Petrobras began oil and gas production on December 31, 2025, from the P-78 FPSO in Brazil’s Búzios pre-salt field, boosting the field’s capacity to 1.15 million barrels per day.
The platform, capable of producing 180,000 barrels of oil and 7.2 million cubic meters of gas daily, supports 13 wells with intelligent systems and features emission-reducing technologies.
It arrived from Singapore in October 2025, completing commissioning en route.
The P-78 is part of Petrobras’ push to reach 2.5 million barrels per day in 2026, with gas exports via the ROTA 3 pipeline potentially increasing regional supply by up to 3 million cubic meters daily.
