A man drove drunk in Spokane Valley, crashed, injured his son, tried to flee with a knife, and was arrested.
A 38-year-old man, Adam L. Powe, is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing his car in Spokane Valley on January 2, 2026, around 3:45 a.m.
The rollover accident left his young son with a significant but non-life-threatening laceration.
Powe attempted to flee the scene with his son when confronted by witnesses, who subdued him after he brandished a knife and threatened to stab them.
No bystanders were injured.
Both Powe and his son were hospitalized, and after being cleared medically, Powe was booked into jail on charges including vehicular assault, DUI, reckless endangerment, and multiple counts of harassment and assault.
The incident is under investigation by Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputies.
