The Indian Army’s Spear Corps held a New Year outreach in Bene Village, West Siang, Arunachal Pradesh, organizing sports and cultural activities like tug of war and archery to strengthen ties with locals in a border region near China. The event, aligned with the Army’s “People First” initiative, aimed to build trust and cooperation, reflecting its dual role in national security and community development. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi highlighted ongoing Operation Sindoor and the military’s transformation through jointness, self-reliance, and innovation, emphasizing vigilance and indigenous technology use. Similar engagements occurred in Nagaland, underscoring sustained military-civil collaboration in frontier areas.
