Haringey Council proposes 150 affordable homes, including two towers, on the Wood Green chocolate factory site, with a car-free design and 275 bike spots.
Haringey Council has proposed building 150 affordable homes on the former chocolate factory site in Wood Green, including a 22-storey and 14-storey tower on the current Mallard Place site, which houses Area 51 Education set to relocate.
The development includes various unit sizes, is car-free with only 12 accessible parking spaces and 275 cycle spots, and is part of the broader Wood Green Cultural Quarter and Chocolate Factory Phase 1 project.
The plans follow community consultation that backed council housing but raised concerns over traffic, climate, and design.
The project, aligned with the borough’s local plan, is under review with reference HGY/2025/3217.
