flag Porsche recalls over 173,000 U.S. vehicles due to rearview camera software defect risking crashes.

Porsche is recalling 173,538 vehicles in the U.S., including select 2019–2025 Cayenne, Cayenne E-Hybrid, 2020–2025 911 and Taycan, and 2024–2025 Panamera and Panamera E-Hybrid models, due to a software issue that may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying when reversing. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the defect violates federal safety standards requiring adequate rear visibility, increasing crash risk. Porsche will fix the issue with a free software update at authorized dealerships. Owners will be notified by mail, and until repairs are made, drivers are advised to use mirrors and visual checks when reversing. The recall was announced on December 31, 2025.
