Pakistan's election commission sets Jan. 15, 2026, deadline for lawmakers to file financial disclosures or face suspension.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has set January 15, 2026, as the new deadline for lawmakers to submit financial disclosures under Section 137 of the Elections Act 2017.
Failure to file by then will trigger suspension of membership starting January 16.
The forms, covering assets and liabilities of legislators, spouses, and dependent children as of June 30, 2017, were originally due by December 31, 2025.
The ECP warned that 446 lawmakers remain non-compliant and could face suspension, following last year’s suspension of 139 members for similar reasons.
Forms are available on the ECP’s website.
