Neuralink starts mass production of brain implants and automated surgery in 2026 for paralyzed patients.
Elon Musk announced on X that Neuralink will begin mass production of its brain-computer interface implants and transition to fully automated surgery by 2026.
The devices, which are intended to help people with severe paralysis, have already allowed 12 patients worldwide to control cursors, play games, browse the internet, and post on social media using only their thoughts.
Human trials began in 2024, after the FDA approved the device following previous safety concerns.
Neuralink raised $650 million in June, but the company did not respond to Reuters' request for comment.
