A Missouri man, charged with DWI causing death, crashed at high speed, killing a woman and injuring two others.
Mason R. McIntyre, 20, of Independence, Missouri, has been charged with DWI causing death and two counts of second-degree assault after a Dec. 27 crash that killed 36-year-old Jennifer Jensen and injured two others.
Police say McIntyre, with a blood alcohol level of .186—more than twice Missouri’s legal limit—ran a red light at high speed in a 2004 Chevrolet pickup, striking a northbound Ford Ranger.
A beer can was found in his truck.
The victim died at the scene; the Ranger’s driver and a 12-year-old girl were hospitalized with serious injuries.
McIntyre, who was trapped in his vehicle and taken to a hospital, faces up to 29 years in prison if convicted.
His bond is set at $100,000.
