India cuts natural gas prices in Delhi NCR by 70 paise starting Jan 1, 2026, due to national tariff reform.
On January 1, 2026, Indraprastha Gas Limited reduced domestic piped natural gas prices in Delhi and the National Capital Region by 70 paise per standard cubic metre, bringing rates to Rs 47.89 in Delhi, Rs 46.70 in Gurugram, and Rs 47.76 in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad.
The change comes after the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board implemented a national tariff reform that simplified pipeline pricing from three to two zones and introduced a unified Zone-1 rate of around Rs 54 per million BTU, lowering transportation costs.
This reform, which applies to 312 areas served by 40 city gas distributors, is expected to save customers Rs 2-3 per unit.
GAIL Gas and other providers also implemented similar price cuts across multiple states, in line with the government's efforts to boost the gas-based economy and encourage clean energy.
