Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched Rs 497 crore in infrastructure projects across Viramgam, Mandal, and Detroj talukas on January 1, 2026, advancing the region’s transformation into a Special Investment Region and auto hub.
Projects include road expansions, railway overbridges, and civic facilities aimed at improving connectivity, with key components like the Rs 285-crore Viramgam-Mandal-Dasada Road and Kokta Phatak railway overbridge expected to ease traffic for around 100,000 commuters.
Patel credited the state’s development model and Prime Minister Modi’s vision for boosting infrastructure, citing increased highway construction under Bharatmala and a Rs 10,000 crore allocation for the Namo Shakti Expressway and 12 high-speed corridors.
The event also included distribution of millet baskets under the Suposhit Gujarat Abhiyan.
