A Delhi man falsely claimed PM Modi’s support to scam defense and space agencies, leading to a CBI case.
The CBI has filed a case against Nisheeth Kohli, a Delhi man, for allegedly misusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s and his Principal Secretary’s names in emails sent to Indian defense and space agencies, including ISRO, DRDO, and HAL, as well as the Pentagon.
Kohli, a textile chemistry engineer, claimed to have the PM’s blessings to develop an indigenous military jet engine and fabricated ties to top officials to gain credibility.
The investigation, launched after a PMO complaint in March 2024, traced a wide email trail from his personal Gmail account.
He was charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and IT Act for impersonation and fraud.
The case remains under investigation.
