Fentanyl and gun found in Maine home after K9 tracked stolen truck scent; two arrested with prior records.

A drug bust in Fort Fairfield, Maine, resulted in the arrest of Timothy Philbrick, 33, and Mariah McEwen, 23, after a police K9 tracked a scent from a stolen contractor’s truck to a home on Columbia Street. Searches uncovered about 7.8 grams of fentanyl and a handgun, leading to felony charges including aggravated trafficking of Schedule W drugs and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Both suspects have prior drug convictions. Philbrick was jailed with $2,500 cash bail; McEwen was released after posting $500 bail. Additional burglary-related charges are pending. Authorities credited the K9 unit with a key role in the investigation.
