On December 26, 2025, the KGL Foundation donated over GHS 170,000 in building materials to Tamale Central Prison in northern Ghana, including roofing sheets, wood, paint, plumbing and electrical supplies, and air conditioners.
The donation aims to improve living conditions and expand vocational training and educational spaces for inmates.
Deputy Director of Prisons Obed Kofi Acquaye accepted the gift, citing ongoing challenges like overcrowding, poor sanitation, and unreliable water supply.
He urged more organizations to support prison reform.
Inmates emphasized the need for better vocational training and post-release employment help to reduce recidivism.
The KGL Foundation’s contribution supports its Hope Beyond Walls initiative, part of the KGL Group’s corporate social responsibility efforts.
