Air India Express has received its first custom-designed Boeing 737-8, the 51st in its fleet, marking a major step in its modernization. Delivered from Boeing’s Seattle facility, the aircraft features enhanced comfort with ergonomic seating, individual power outlets, larger overhead bins, onboard ovens, and quieter interiors with mood lighting. The airline, now operating over 100 aircraft including A320/321neos, has expanded to 60 destinations, adding 12 in 2025. It is retrofitting 50 existing 737-8s to a standardized 189-seat layout and launched a new brand campaign, “Xplore More, Xpress More,” alongside its “Tales of India” initiative showcasing regional art on aircraft tails.
