The U.S. ITC is investigating Samsung, Google, and Super Micro over alleged patent violations by their memory products.
The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into Samsung, Google, and Super Micro over allegations of patent infringement involving six patents held by Netlist, a California-based memory technology company.
The probe, initiated by a complaint filed on September 30, 2025, will determine whether Samsung’s DDR5 memory modules and high-bandwidth memory products violate Netlist’s intellectual property.
If infringement is found, the ITC could block the importation of these products into the United States.
Netlist, which develops memory technologies used in AI computing, expressed satisfaction with the decision and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its innovations.
The outcome could impact the availability of key memory components in the U.S. market, though the final determination remains uncertain due to legal and technical complexities.
