Two people were arrested in Newfoundland after a traffic stop revealed drugs and open cannabis.
Two people, a 22-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man from St. David’s, were arrested in Channel-Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador, after a traffic stop on Sunday morning.
RCMP officers stopped their vehicle on Main Road in Isle aux Morts around 1:40 a.m. and found evidence of illicit drugs, leading to the seizure of a substance believed to be cocaine.
The woman was also cited for having open cannabis while driving.
Both are expected to appear in court in April on possession charges.
Authorities reminded drivers that cannabis must be stored in its original sealed packaging while in a vehicle.
