A Texas man was charged for trying to support ISIS after meeting an FBI agent, sharing bomb plans and crypto.
After meeting an FBI undercover agent on December 22, 2025, John Michael Garza Jr., a 21-year-old man from Texas, was accused in federal court of trying to give material support to ISIS by bringing bomb-making supplies and talking about explosive construction. According to authorities, he has been in contact with the agent since November, sending cryptocurrency, sharing ISIS media, and providing a bomb-making instructional video. Garza was reported for pro-ISIS social media activity by a New York City police officer, which sparked the start of the case. If found guilty, he could spend up to 20 years behind bars. He was in court on December 23. According to the FBI and the Justice Department, the threat was neutralized before any damage was done.
