A settlement in a lawsuit over Messi, Suárez, and Busquets missing a 2024 Vancouver match will fund youth sports charities and improve ticket disclaimers, with no direct fan payouts.
A proposed settlement has been reached in a class-action lawsuit over the absence of Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, and Sergio Busquets from a May 2024 Vancouver Whitecaps match, with no direct compensation for fans.
Instead, $475,000 will go to youth sports charities, and the team will update ticketing policies to include clearer disclaimers about player availability.
The settlement, pending court approval in February 2026, excludes free or employee tickets.
The Whitecaps and MLS deny any wrongdoing.
