Ola Electric's Roadster X+ electric motorcycle, powered by its domestically developed 4680 Bharat Cell battery, has received government certification under India's Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, making it the first Indian electric motorcycle with a fully in-house battery system to receive official approval. iCAT's certification confirms compliance with safety, performance, and environmental standards, which include rigorous testing for range, braking, noise, electromagnetic compatibility, and battery durability. The 9.1 kWh battery has a claimed 500-kilometer range and has received ARAI certification under AIS-156 Amendment 4 for fire safety, thermal runaway, and mechanical shock resistance.
