India Women set a new record with a highest-ever T20I total of 221/2 against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram, powered by a record 162-run opening partnership between Smriti Mandhana (80 off 48) and Shafali Verma (79 off 46).
Their stand surpassed India’s previous best for any wicket in T20Is.
The duo now holds the record for most runs together in Women’s T20Is (3,107) and leads in 50-plus partnerships (24).
Mandhana also became the second Indian and fourth woman to reach 10,000 international runs.
India won by 30 runs, taking a 4-0 series lead.
