India launches 2025 spectrum plan to advance 5G, 6G, and satellite networks.
India has launched the National Frequency Allocation Plan 2025, effective December 30, 2025, to support 5G, 5G Advanced, and future 6G networks by allocating the 6425–7125 MHz band for mobile services.
The plan also designates Ka, Q, and V bands for satellite communications, including non-terrestrial networks, and reserves spectrum for in-flight and maritime broadband, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) systems, and low and medium Earth orbit satellite services.
The update aligns India’s spectrum management with global standards to boost digital infrastructure and innovation.
