In 2025, India overhauled its labour sector by implementing four unified Labour Codes, replacing 29 outdated laws, enhancing worker protections, and enabling digital compliance. A major job creation scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, launched with a 99,446-crore budget, aimed to generate 3.5 crore jobs in two years. Social security coverage rose to 64.3%, earning India the ISSA Award 2025. Digital advancements included auto-settlement of EPFO claims, expanded ESIC healthcare access to 713 districts, and over 31.42 crore e-Shram registrations. The National Career Service facilitated 1.58 lakh provisional job placements through 9,800 fairs.
