Around 170 sheep died near Rashtriya Prerna Sthal in Lucknow under mysterious circumstances, prompting a police investigation. Officials are testing samples to determine if the deaths were caused by poisoning, disease, or negligence. The animals, many belonging to residents from Fatehpur district, showed signs of illness after possibly consuming contaminated material. The Lucknow Municipal Corporation faces scrutiny over open dumping of waste, and the Animal Husbandry Department is treating affected sheep, with about 70 recovering. Post-mortem exams are underway, and tissue samples are being sent for lab analysis. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered a probe and announced Rs 10,000 in aid per dead sheep. No FIR has been filed as of now.
