The officers, including a captain and a patrolwoman, are accused of stealing 500,000 pesos in jewelry and failing to coordinate with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. A criminal complaint for robbery and violation of domicile has been filed, and the officers have posted bail. The entire DEU has been disbanded, with all personnel placed under restrictive custody. The unit will be reformed after new officers are vetted by district and regional commanders.
