A disabled man got a settlement from Asda after a driver mocked him during a delivery.
A 22-year-old man with fibromyalgia and autism, Necati Ayhan, received a four-figure settlement from Asda after claiming a delivery driver made degrading remarks during a grocery delivery on October 31, 2025. Ayhan, who uses a wheelchair outside the home but not indoors, said he explained he couldn’t carry bags due to his disabilities. The driver allegedly said, “disabled my a**e,” and told him, “You don’t look disabled to me,” according to a voice recording. Ayhan requested the order be returned and filed a complaint, initially receiving only a £30 voucher. After media coverage, Asda confirmed the driver was disciplined and left the company, and the supermarket paid a settlement, though details were not disclosed. Ayhan said the incident left him feeling embarrassed and deeply hurt.
