A 66-year-old Orange woman, Charlene Fay Morris, was given an 18-month community correction order after being caught with 40 grams of methamphetamine sewn into a pillow on May 15, 2025, at Orange Train Station.
Police, acting on intelligence, stopped her upon her arrival from Bathurst and found the drugs in the pillow, though she claimed ignorance and said someone she couldn’t remember gave it to her.
Authorities also found a second identical pillow in her suitcase.
At her December 4, 2025, court appearance, her lawyer cited personal tragedies and a history of drug use since 2020.
The prosecutor did not oppose a community sentence, and Magistrate Gary Wilson imposed 120 hours of community service and mandatory treatment, allowing her to avoid jail if she complies.
