A 26-year-old Japanese man died in a possible drowning after jumping from sea cliffs at Kalae Cove Park, Hawai‘i, on Dec. 28, 2025.

A 26-year-old Japanese man, Kan Ogoshi, died in a possible drowning after jumping from sea cliffs into the ocean at Kalae Cove Park in Ka‘ū, Hawai‘i Island, on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Witnesses reported he did not resurface, and bystanders pulled him from the water and performed CPR before emergency responders arrived. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at Ka‘ū Hospital. Authorities found no evidence of foul play and are investigating. The incident follows another suspected drowning earlier in the week. Police are urging witnesses to contact them for information.
