Liana Edwards, a 6-foot setter from Gorham High School, has been named Varsity Maine Volleyball Player of the Year for the second straight season, leading her team to a third consecutive Class A state title. After a slow start, coach Emma Tirrell moved her to full-time setter in a 5-1 formation, sparking a 12-1 finish. Edwards contributed 337 assists, 171 digs, 90 kills, and 41 aces, showcasing elite versatility. She played a key leadership role in team cohesion and improvement, earning recognition as Maine’s top high school volleyball player in 2025.
