LG Innotek has introduced a next-generation under-display camera at CES 2026, designed to monitor driver alertness invisibly behind vehicle dashboards. Using AI-powered image restoration, the camera achieves over 99% image quality compared to standard cameras, overcoming light blockage from display screens. The technology supports safety features like drowsiness detection and is positioned to meet rising global demand, including Europe’s 2026 DMS mandate. The company aims to grow its sensing business—encompassing cameras, LiDAR, and radar—to $1.4 billion by 2030.
