Jindal Steel plans to double its Raigarh plant’s capacity to 2.4 million tonnes by 2028, boosting India’s heavy steel production.
Jindal Steel Ltd. plans to double its structural steel production capacity at the Raigarh facility from 1.2 million tonnes per year to 2.4 million tonnes by mid-2028.
The expansion includes a new dedicated mill and technology upgrades to produce heavier, more complex steel sections, including those up to 1,100 mm deep and 1,500 kg per meter.
The project aims to meet growing domestic demand in infrastructure, power, renewable energy, and high-rise construction, reducing India’s reliance on imported heavy steel.
