China and Malaysia launched the China-Malaysia Technical and Vocational Education and Training Industry-Education Alliance on December 19, 2024, uniting 33 institutions to align training with industries like rail transport, new energy vehicles, and artificial intelligence.
Based in Liuzhou, the alliance supports Malaysia’s East Coast Rail Link, expected to open in 2027, and has trained 208 Malaysian students and delivered over 25,000 person-days of technical training for Chinese firms abroad.
It promotes joint curricula, shared certifications, and exchanges, with four new collaborative projects announced.
