UK bans food promotions and unhealthy ads to fight childhood obesity starting Oct. 1, 2025.
Starting October 1, 2025, major UK supermarkets like Tesco, Asda, Aldi, and Morrisons are banning price promotions and multibuy deals on certain foods and drinks across England as part of a government effort to reduce childhood obesity.
Free drink refills in cafes and restaurants are also prohibited.
Television ads for less healthy foods are banned before 9pm, beginning January 5, 2025.
The rules apply to supermarkets, large retailers, and online platforms, aiming to discourage consumption of high-calorie, low-nutrient products.
