President Bola Tinubu attended the 2025 Eyo Festival in Lagos, the first time the event was held in eight years, marking a cultural revival.
Wearing traditional white robes and a star-adorned hat, he joined the procession at Tafawa Balewa Square, honoring four late Lagos figures, including his mother, Alhaja Abibat Mogaji.
The festival, organized by the Oba of Lagos and Lagos State, celebrated Yoruba heritage and community resilience, with Tinubu calling it a “great rekindling of our culture” and highlighting its role in national pride and tourism during “Detty December.” Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hailed the event as a historic homecoming and affirmed Lagos’ commitment to preserving culture alongside development.
