Nearly 9,000 people ran in the Jammu Marathon, doubling last year’s turnout, as part of a push for unity and fitness.
Nearly 9,000 people participated in the Jammu Marathon, organized by J&K Police on December 28, 2025, marking a near doubling of last year’s turnout. The event, themed "Run for Unity," aimed to promote community bonding, healthy lifestyles, and youth engagement while discouraging drug use. Flagged off by ADGP Anand Jain, runners included students, police personnel, and senior citizens. The Inter-Battalion Zonal Sports Meet, held concurrently, saw 34 battalions compete in multiple sports, with IRP 14th Battalion winning the overall trophy after securing 120 medals. Both events underscore the police department’s ongoing efforts to boost physical fitness, camaraderie, and inter-agency cooperation.
