India's aviation regulator removed Ravinder Jamwal from his oversight role amid probe into IndiGo cancellations affecting 5,000+ passengers.
The DGCA removed Ravinder Jamwal from his additional role as director of the Flight Standards Directorate on December 23, 2025, amid a major investigation into IndiGo’s flight cancellations affecting over 5,000 passengers.
Jamwal, who approved regulatory exemptions allowing extended pilot duty hours, was replaced just after a government inquiry panel submitted its confidential report.
The DGCA has not disclosed the reason for the move, which occurred during heightened scrutiny of aviation safety and regulatory oversight.
Jamwal retains his original position overseeing Air Navigation Services and Airspace.
