Fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar offers Rs 217 crore to settle extortion case against him.
Jailed fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar has offered to pay Rs 217 crore to Aditi Singh, the complainant in a Rs 200 crore extortion case, according to a court filing in Delhi.
The offer, made through his lawyer and submitted before Additional Sessions Judge Prashant Sharma, is without prejudice and does not admit guilt.
The case stems from allegations that Chandrashekhar, while imprisoned, impersonated top government officials using fake identities to defraud the wife of a former Ranbaxy promoter between 2020 and 2021.
He and associate A Paulose face charges under PMLA and MCOCA, with investigations ongoing into hawala channels and shell companies.
The court will consider the settlement proposal on January 3, 2026, after notifying the complainant.
