Fiji’s top health official, Dr. Jemesa Tudravu, died at 64 after serving over 30 years in public health.
Dr. Jemesa Tudravu, Fiji’s Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, has died at the age of 64.
He passed away on December 27, 2025, following traditional protocols, according to Acting Permanent Secretary Dr. Luisa Cikamatana.
With over 30 years of service, Dr. Tudravu was a respected orthopaedic surgeon trained in Australia and held key leadership roles across Fiji’s health system, including at Lautoka and Colonial War Memorial Hospitals.
He officially became Permanent Secretary in February 2024.
Colleagues praised his humility, integrity, and dedication to public health.
