Direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi are expected to launch in January, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider announced during a meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in Dhaka on December 28, 2025.
The discussion focused on boosting bilateral ties through expanded trade, investment, aviation, and people-to-people exchanges, including education and medical collaboration.
Haider reported a 20% increase in trade and growing interest from Bangladeshi students in studying in Pakistan, particularly in medical sciences, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence.
He also noted a rise in Bangladeshi patients seeking organ transplants in Pakistan, with training opportunities available in transplantation medicine.
Yunus welcomed the improved relations and emphasized the importance of regional cooperation among SAARC nations, expressing hope for new investment and joint ventures during Haider’s tenure.
