Australia dropped Webster and Inglis from Ashes squad for Big Bash League play ahead of final Test.
Australia has released allrounder Beau Webster and wicketkeeper Josh Inglis from the Ashes squad to play in the Big Bash League ahead of the final Test at the SCG starting January 4.
Webster, omitted despite seven Tests this year, will join the Hobart Hurricanes, while Inglis, dropped after modest performances, will play for the Perth Scorchers.
Both are set to rejoin the national team in Sydney by New Year’s Eve.
Webster may be considered for a recall due to Cameron Green’s poor batting form, averaging 18.66 in the series.
The move allows players to participate in domestic cricket during the break between the Boxing Day Test and the final Ashes match.
