U.S. and Mexican forces seized assets and arrested suspects in a raid targeting fugitive Ryan Wedding, a former Olympian accused of leading a billion-dollar drug ring.
Mexican authorities, in a joint operation with U.S. law enforcement, raided four properties in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, seizing 62 high-end motorcycles, two vehicles, drugs, artwork, documents, ammunition, and two Olympic medals linked to Ryan Wedding, a 44-year-old former Canadian Olympian and fugitive on the FBI’s most wanted list.
Wedding, who competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics, is accused of leading a billion-dollar drug trafficking network tied to multiple murders, with U.S. officials offering a $15 million reward for his capture.
The raids follow the granting of bail to Deepak Paradkar, an Ontario lawyer allegedly involved in advising the murder of a federal witness connected to Wedding’s case.
The investigation remains ongoing, with several Canadians arrested as part of the FBI-led probe.
