Rahman Rose shot Delaware trooper Matthew Snook at a DMV, killing him, before being shot dead by police.
A man accused of fatally shooting Delaware State Police Trooper Matthew Snook at a New Castle DMV on Tuesday allowed customers to exit before opening fire on arriving officers, according to authorities.
Rahman Rose, 44, of Wilmington, allegedly shot Snook from behind at the reception desk, prompting the officer to push a DMV employee to safety and urge others to flee.
Rose then fired at law enforcement, leading to his death after a New Castle County officer shot him through a window.
The incident, which occurred during a storm, prompted a community procession and memorial for Snook, a 10-year veteran known as “Ty.” All Delaware DMV offices were closed temporarily due to safety concerns, with most reopening Monday with adjusted hours.
Authorities continue investigating, seeking witnesses and information.
