Mumbai airport handled 55 million passengers in 2025, earned top global service accreditation, and expanded digital and sustainable operations.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai set records in 2025, handling 55.12 million passengers—the highest ever—with a single-day peak of 1.76 lakh passengers and 1,036 air traffic movements.
It became India’s first and the world’s third airport to earn Level 5 ACI Customer Experience Accreditation, the top global service honor.
The airport expanded connectivity with new routes, including Royal Jordanian Airlines’ nonstop flights, and boosted international cargo by 17%, exporting over 3,600 metric tonnes of mangoes.
It advanced digital infrastructure with a new operations center, cashless UPI and FASTag payments, and earned recognition for digitisation and sustainability, including ISO 19650-2 certification and pre-monsoon runway maintenance.
The airport also invested in workforce training and community health programs, with plans to further enhance digital services, sustainability, and multimodal integration.
