Italy opens 10,500 jobs for Pakistani workers over three years to cut illegal migration.
Italy has established a three-year, 10,500-job quota for Pakistani workers, the first such agreement with a European country, aiming to reduce illegal migration.
The jobs, spread across hospitality, healthcare, agriculture, and shipbreaking, include 3,500 annual employment visas, 1,500 seasonal, and 2,000 non-seasonal positions, with roles for welders, chefs, nurses, and farmers.
The move follows a request by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, who called it a major milestone.
A joint working group meeting is set for February 2026 in Islamabad, with hopes other European nations will follow.
