"Cincinnati Story" sculpture is being restored in Virginia, with completion expected by April 2026.
A large outdoor sculpture titled "Cincinnati Story," created by George Sugarman in 1982 and moved to Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park in 1999, is being restored after decades of weathering.
Disassembled into 46 pieces in November 2025, it was shipped to Virginia for conservation work including sanding, repainting, and applying a protective coating to revive its original bright colors.
The restoration, led by expert conservators, aims to preserve the artwork’s historical and cultural significance.
It is expected to be completed by April 2026, with a public unveiling planned for International Sculpture Day, coinciding with the park’s 30th anniversary and the sculpture’s 25th year at the site.
