Chicago Fire sign Finnish midfielder Robin Lod to multi-year deal after he left Minnesota United.
The Chicago Fire signed 32-year-old Finnish midfielder Robin Lod to a multi-year contract through 2028, following his departure from Minnesota United.
Lod, who scored 41 goals and added 28 assists in 185 appearances for Minnesota, also earned 6 goals and 12 assists in 83 caps for Finland.
The move comes after the Fire traded midfielder Brian Gutierrez to Chivas for a reported $5 million.
Head coach and director of football Gregg Berhalter praised Lod’s experience and goal-scoring ability, saying he will boost the team’s competitiveness ahead of the 2026 season.
Chicago has also added Swedish midfielder Anton Saletros and South African defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi in recent months.
